The Three Spheres of Web Strategy – Jeremiah Owyang

I only recently came across Jeremiah Owyang’s blog and am PO’d for not finding it sooner because it is a gold mine of fantastic information and insights. This image below is just one of the nuggets that reveals the important balance between technology, community and business in order to develop a successful web strategy.

I would argue that this is more crucial for those businesses heavily reliant on transactional technology (i.e. something buying, booking, tweaking something via the site) than your mom ‘n pop shop, but I think the point is that whatever your needs are, they must be balanced with the business you’re in, the community of users you’re looking to connect with, and the technology most suited to allow those users to interact with each other and with your service.
